Finnair Expands Its Horizons: New Routes and Increased Frequencies for Winter 2024 and Summer 2025
Exciting news for travellers! Finnair has just unveiled its updated traffic program for Winter 2024 and Summer 2025, and it's packed with new routes and increased frequencies to some fantastic destinations. New routes include Japan, Lativa, Dallas USA, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland and Norway.
Japan Takes Center Stage
In Summer 2025, Finnair is ramping up its services to Japan, adding more weekly frequencies to Tokyo Narita. This means daily flights to both Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita will be available, offering travellers even more flexibility and options to explore this beautiful country. But that's not all - Nagoya will also benefit from a third weekly frequency, making it easier than ever to discover the wonders of this diverse nation.
Discover Kirkenes, Norway
Finnair is also spreading its wings to Northern Norway with a brand-new destination - the charming town of Kirkenes. Starting in the Summer 2025 season, Finnair will fly to Kirkenes from Helsinki via Ivalo three times a week, using a 68-seater ATR aircraft. This new route is perfect for Finnish and international travelers looking to explore the enchanting landscapes of Finnish Lapland and Northern Norway. Plus, it offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the famous Hurtigruten cruise that sails to and from Kirkenes.

Baltic Boost
In addition to the exciting new routes, Finnair is also increasing its frequencies to the Baltic capitals. Tallinn and Riga will each get an extra five weekly frequencies, while Vilnius will see an additional two, making it even easier to explore these vibrant and historic cities.
Dallas Gets a Winter Warm-Up
For Winter 2024, Finnair is adding frequencies to its Dallas route, making it a year-round daily service. Finnair’s Dallas flights offer seamless connections to American Airlines’ extensive network out of their Dallas hub, making it a convenient choice for travelers heading to the USA.

Ever heard of Suwa in Nagano Prefecture? It's just a 2.5 hour ride on the express train from Tokyo. It’s famous for the Suwa Lake Fireworks Festival, and guess what? It's celebrating its 75th anniversary this year!
In August Suwa transforms into a fireworks wonderland. It is one of the largest fireworks display in Japan. We're talking about a whopping 40,000 fireworks lighting up the sky! Half a million people make the journey to the town (population: 50,000) to witness this magnificent experience.
Ten top-class pyrotechnicians from all over the country gather at Lake Suwa for a fireworks display in August to compete and show off their technique.
Suwa takes its fireworks seriously. Apart from the August extravaganza, they throw another massive fireworks bash in September. Suwa’s pyrotechnicians make sure these displays are nothing short of mind-blowing. Suwa welcome the best pyrotechnicians from all over the country every year, who train hard year round to produce beautiful large flowers in the night sky of Suwa every year.
Now, if you're all about fireworks but not so much about crowds, we've got a special experience for you. A private fireworks show! Suwa's pyrotechnicians can master up a personalised show just for you and your group.
And get this – you can choose when and where the magic happens. DMC Japan by KNT recently pulled off a sweet surprise for a couple celebrating their anniversary recently. They set up a private viewing area on the hotel terrace. Talk about romantic!
It’s worthwhile noting that in winter, the show is moved to Lake Shirakaba due to the migratory birds at Lake Suwa.
