Flynas, Saudi Arabia’s premier budget airline and a leading global low-cost carrier, has unveiled its latest milestone: a new direct service connecting Berlin with Jeddah, starting 4th September 2024.

- Strategic Alliance:This introduction is part of a strategic alliance with the Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP), coinciding with Flynas’ participation at the ITB Berlin trade show.
- Route Details: Scheduled to start on September 4, 2024, the Berlin-Jeddah flight route will operate three times weekly, linking King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah with Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER).
- Strategic Alignment:This expansion aligns with the objectives of the Saudi National Aviation Strategy, aiming to handle 330 million passengers and attract 150 million visitors by 2030. It supports Flynas’ mission to “We Connect the World to the Kingdom” and the Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of enhancing air connectivity.
- Leadership Statements: Bander Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director of Flynas, highlighted the significance of incorporating Berlin into their international network, underscoring Flynas’ growing presence in Europe. Majid Khan, CEO of ACP, expressed excitement about the launch of the new route between Berlin and Jeddah, reflecting the commitment to enhanced connectivity.

With operations extending to over 70 domestic and international locations, Flynas operates upwards of 1,500 flights weekly and has served over 78 million passengers since its inception in 2007. A fairly unusual way to get to know the metropolis Berlin is to explore the city in a Trabi - the cult symbol of the former GDR.
The Trabi car, short for Trabant, has since 1989 no longer been produced. Over 3 million of them were produced in a total of 30 years, and Berlin has a few still in its possession.
In each Trabi, 3 people can travel through the streets of Berlin,as if in former times! After some explanations about the cars and the traffic, guests will drive the Trabis alone. In the first car of each convoy, the guide’s explanations are provided via a special transmitter found in every car.
