Ingredients Authentic Peruvian Ceviche:

  • 500g fresh white fish fillets (because we're going big on the fresh fish)
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced (the crunchy companion)
  • 1-2 hot chili peppers, finely chopped (adjust to your spice tolerance)
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (the zesty maestro)
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro (the herbalicious star)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for a flavourful kick)
  • 1 sweet potato, boiled and sliced (for a unique twist)
  • Salt and pepper to taste (the trusty seasoning duo)
  • Lettuce leaves (for serving)
  • Corn nuts or popcorn (the crunchy surprise)

How to Prepare Authentic Peruvian Ceviche:

  1. Let's get slicing! Cut your fresh fish into bite-sized pieces. It's like prepping your fish for a tangy lime bath – VIP style!
  2. In a large bowl, combine the fish, red onion slices, hot chili peppers, and minced garlic. Mix it up like you're setting the stage for a zesty performance!
  3. Pour in the fresh lime juice, making sure to cover all the fish pieces. Let it marinate and work its tangy magic – the longer, the better!
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then add the chopped cilantro. Toss everything together like you're hosting a fresh fish fiesta!
  5. Chill the ceviche in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors mingle and the fish "cook" in the lime juice. It's like a citrusy spa day for your fish!
  6. Once chilled, serve your Peruvian Ceviche on lettuce leaves, garnished with slices of boiled sweet potato and a sprinkle of corn nuts or popcorn for that extra crunch.

There you have it, amigos! An Authentic Peruvian Ceviche that's as fun to make as it is to eat. Grab your forks, embrace the zesty lime, and let the flavour fiesta begin!
